malefemale.gifThe BBC has done an experiment to see if male and female stereotypes such as "women can't read maps", "men aren't empathetic", "women are better at multitasking", and "women are the bigger gossipers" are really true. Through a series of experiments, the BBC found that a few of these stereotypes that rang true. However, there were also some exceptions, as they found the woman of the experiment didn't do so well at multitasking, and that the man was actually more empathetic than they had anticipated.

Also, it turns out men and women tend to gossip about the same amount, as technically, gossiping is just "talking about nothing in particular". What I found the most hilarious, though, was that they found that women really do have a harder time reading a map. Personally, I just use a Sat Nav because not only do I not know how to read a map, but I also don't know how to fold them. We all know from experience that men and women's brains work differently, and this experiment seemed to just reiterate that. However, the fact that they only used one man and one woman throughout this entire experiment makes it hard to think of the BCC's findings as "scientific".
