The New Yorker thinks very few women will make a difference in future

Amazing how some things never change. On May 6 and 7, The New Yorker is putting on an event called The New Yorker Conference / 2012: Stories From The Near Future. The sold-out event features New Yorker writers and editors that will "introduce" the conference-goers to "the minds that will make a difference in the coming years". Apparently, out of the 35 minds that are going to make a difference, and be speaking at this event, only six are women. Yup. Six. That's it. The women that will be speaking include the first female Pritzker Prize winner, Marianne Cusato, and Nokia senior designer Younghee Jung. Thankfully, however, this hasn't managed to go unnoticed. Websites such as The Broadsheet, The Huffington Post, and Art Fag City have all written articles calling out The New Yorker.
