The Indian government has made the decision to drop the questions in the new service review of female bureaucrats regarding questions about the history of their menstrual cycle. Apparently the performance appraisal for these women included a three page health section that asks women for a "detailed menstrual history" and inquiries about their last "confinement". There were even questions regarding the women's pap smears and mammograms. The female bureaucrats rightfully kicked up a stink about this, because obviously, what the hell does your period have to do with a job review? What exactly were they looking for? If you had a lighter-flow were you more eligible for a raise? If you suffered from cramps did you get less paid-holiday? An unnamed senior official said, "A fresh notification deleting those female-specific clauses will be issued shortly." Thankfully, the questions have been officially dropped, and the only health questions now being asked regard blood reports and a cardiac profile.
