Give me a seat, I'm on my period!
Anyone who's travelled through London using the tube network - at any time of day or night - will know just how squashed you can get, and how few people offer seats to the elderly, infirm, or pregnant. You'll probably have seen one of the badges tfl have started distributing, no doubt inspired by the Jimmy Carr quote '"it's better to make a pregnant woman stand than a fat woman cry".
What you might not have seen are the badges being handed out by an unnamed artist - way to make it easy for me to find in image for this article - which say 'only women bleed, only women conceive, offer your seat'. The anonymous lady told Scarlet magazine: "Women need to sit down more than men. There is a one in four chance that any working woman may be feeling temporarily below par and weak. It comes with the loss of blood, PMT, pregnancy, breastfeeding, and menopause."
